Vitalik Buterin, the young revelation
One of the main highlights of this event is the participation of Vitalik Buterin, Buterin was born in Russia and raised in Canada, aged just 22 he is already the star of Blockchain. At the end of 2013, Vitalik initially described Ethereum as a platform to build decentralised applications using scripting language which is much more robust than the scripting language used in Bitcoin. Ethereum Blockchain was launched in July 2015. Ethereum is a platform which is primarily based on business logic (corporate contracts, agreements and articles of association) becoming fully coded.
Vitalik is the founder of Ethereum and the co-founder and chief scientist of the Ethereum Foundation. He has also won the World Technology Award for Ethereum, and in 2015 he was awarded the Peter Thiel Fellowship. Furthermore, he has been named as one of the “40 under 40” people to follow.
Vitalik Buterin and Montse Guardia will lead one of the main events on the second day of 4YFN. You can see the full schedule of events here
The main objectives of this Hackathon are to:
- Achieve the best implementation of Smart Contracts in a private Etherum environment in the following 4 areas: Banking, Insurance, Legal and Energy. The best SMARTContract idea which we wish to develop will be granted Banco Sabadell certification.
- Share, test and validate the results from the Blockchain Ethereum prototype, carried out by applying a “learning-by-doing” methodology at Banc Sabadell during 2016.
- Establish co-creation synergies between banking, insurance, legal and energy corporations and technology start-ups. In order to achieve these objectives, together with Banco Sabadell, the following entities will participate in the Hackathon: Zurich, Joint-Venture Zurich/Banc Sabadell, Roca Junyent and Endesa.
- Potential launch of an innovative project based on an award winning idea, and the potential launch of a Lab in Blockchain for the duration of one year with the partners who have participated in the Hackathon.
